Our Story

Huntercraft is a local family business owned and operated by Andrew and Kate Owen, based in Waimatuku, Southland.

It was only a matter of time before Andrews passion for getting outdoors and his practical experience led him to designing a purpose-built boat. The turning point came on an overseas trip to Canada, where the couple saw a different style of boats customized for hunting and fishing. This got Andrew thinking about how well suited these boats were for his own uses and New Zealand in general. It wasn’t long after getting home before he was drawing plans and out in the garage building the first boat.

Since then they have continued to develop their boat design. With every new customer comes new ideas as they strive to customize their boats to meet the customers individual needs.
